Basic classification of ironwork

Ironwork can be divided into two types: cast iron and forging. Cast iron is formed by molds with a relatively rough surface, so I won’t go into detail here. Forged iron is made using specialized iron materials. In terms of style, it is generally divided into classical and modern types. The classical style generally adopts complex patterns, uses thicker materials, and uses antique colors, which should belong to the soft and beautiful style. The modern version is relatively simple, and the materials used will also be smaller square tubes, mainly reflecting simplicity, but also not lacking modern beauty.

If the iron gate is distinguished from its structure, it can be divided into two types:

Railing transparent type

The main method is to use large-sized square pipes as the frame for the door, and then use iron fittings to directly splice and inlay in the frame. The performance of this transparent iron gate is more inclined towards aesthetics, and the use of materials is relatively small, making it suitable for larger doors, such as community gates, villa garden doors, etc.

Solid door leaf type

The main method is to use a square tube to make the door frame, and then use an iron plate as the bottom to make the entire door solid. Then, on the iron plate, use iron accessories to splice and inlay the frame. The performance of this solid door tends to be practical and safe, but it requires a lot of materials and is not very prominent in terms of aesthetics. It is more suitable for making small-sized doors, such as private courtyard doors.
